Ignacio is a distinguished international expert in sustainable tourism, with exceptional expertise in high-end hospitality, customer service, destination marketing, vocational training, e-learning, the application of the circular economy in tourism, international cooperation, digitalization as well as innovation.

Over the years, Ignacio has garnered extensive experience across all five continents through his active participation in a wide spectrum of complex multi-stakeholder projects, consistently focusing on the tourism sector. Additionally, Ignacio’s innate public speaking skills has enabled him to act as MC, speaker in international fora, moderator, coach, and trainer in events related to digitalization, sustainability, and circularity within the tourism industry.

Ignacio is a resourceful and diplomatic team player who thrives in multicultural environments, embodying a commitment to work ethics and fair play. Ignacio is academically grounded with a Bachelor’s in Tourism Management from URV, Spain, and holds advanced degrees, including a master’s and a Ph.D. in Development Studies from IHEID, University of Geneva, Switzerland. Furthermore, Ignacio is a certified trainer by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and he is part of the faculty team of the first Bachelor's programme in International Sustainable Tourism, jointly developed by UN Tourism and the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts.
